Account Manager – Mid-Atlantic

The Company: Labcyte Inc. is a major supplier of liquid handling instrumentation, automation and consumables for low-volume liquid handling with headquarters in Sunnyvale, California; and offices in Ireland and Japan. Labcyte products provide high-speed, non-contact dispensing across a wide range of volumes. Our markets include pharmaceutical compound management and screening, high-throughput genomics and assay development, and imaging mass spectrometry.

The Role: Reporting to the Senior Director of Sales, this Account Manager will be responsible for key account management and the sale of all Labcyte products for this geographical territory. This individual will need to appropriately utilize various corporate resources to ensure the business objectives are met. Specifically, this individual will need to successfully demonstrate the following skills: prospecting, lead generation, lead evaluation, technical feasibility,  business planning and key account management

Job Responsibilities:

  • Successfully meet sales objectives within the territory
  • Effective territory and time management
  • Generate new opportunities using your existing territory knowledge, public information and Labcyte’s marketing and applications resources
  • Provide sales forecasts
  • Build and maintain customer relationships and  manage the key global accounts in the territory
  • Develop and maintain account, contact, lead and opportunity information using SalesForce.com
  • Attend trade shows to staff booth activities

Geography - states covered include: PA, NY, NJ, DE, MD, DC, VA, WV, NC, SC,

Education, skills and experience:

  • A BS degree or equivalent experience in a Science discipline
  • Command of the English language, written and oral
  • 5 years proven sales experience within laboratory instrumentation, preferably with robotic liquid handling equipment
  • Excellent existing customer contacts and key account knowledge
  • Good presentation, communication and inter-personal skills
  • Experience with customer/purchasing negotiations
  • Prepared to travel overnight as required.
  • Must live in territory, in appropriate location as no relocation is offered
  • Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Location: Field position, preferably based in NJ or Eastern PA.
