Numerous publications have shown that discoveries were made using the Echo liquid handler, which would have been missed with traditional liquid handlers. This is thanks in part to the elimination of issues associated with pipette tips and the innovation of direct dilution. Labcyte’s patented DMSO concentration monitoring ensures that data is tracked accurately, while the Echo liquid handler provides volume tracking and the advantages of touchless dispensing for all assay components. When coupled with Labcyte automation options, researchers are ensured the highest level of productivity.

Key Benefits:

  • Touchless dispensing and direct dilution ensure that leads are not missed
  • Dependable dispensing of all assay compontents is guaranteed, without user intervention
  • Seamless automation integration provides the greatest throughput of Echo liquid handler workflows

Case Studies:

A recent patent filing by AstraZeneca indicated the Echo liquid handler and its direct dilution process were a critical component in discovery of the patented therapy.  The filing includes data that shows multiple order of magnitudes difference in IC50 results when compared to traditional methods. Without the Echo liquid handler, these therapies may have been missed.  What therapies might you be missing? Read the patent filing for more details.Bristol-Myers Squibb demonstrated fewer false negatives in IC50 assays prepared using the Echo liquid handler versus traditional aqueous serial dilutions. The results revealed 110 compounds that showed significant activity when diluted using the Echo platform, but would have been eliminated as ineffective when diluted using traditional serial dilution. Closer examination revealed that the false negatives are often due to the loss of hydrophobic compounds adhering to pipette tips and dilution vessels. Without their Echo liquid handler, BMS might have missed their best leads. Read the report.
