When AstraZeneca wanted to update its pharmaceutical compound management with a fully acoustic system, we were happy to take on the challenge. Two years later, we are happy to be able to offer the amazing automated workflow solution to all of our customers, as part of the new Access™ Dual Robot System (DRS) - to be revealed at SLAS2018.

Full details will be shared at the International Conference and Exhibition of the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS) 2018, but for now we can reveal that the new system introduces the use of acoustic FluidX Sample Tubes supplied by Brooks Life Sciences, in order to enable sound-driven liquid transfer technology earlier in the sample preparation process, even eliminating the need for working plate libraries in some instances.

Other benefits include: Increased tube and plate storage capacity; reduced impact of microplate freeze-thaw cycles, hydration, and evaporation of samples; improved overall reliability of sample management workflows; and further reduced running costs. But you don’t have to take our word for it. Ask AstraZeneca.

Clive Green, AstraZeneca’s Executive Director and Head of Sample Management at AstraZeneca, will be on site at SLAS alongside our other collaborators, Brooks and Titian Software, for a special tutorial on Monday, February 5, from 12:30-1:45 PM, to discuss the development of the new technology and accompanying software.

Automation experts from Labcyte and AstraZeneca will explain how it all works, at a tutorial on Tuesday, February 6, from 12:30-1:45 PM.

And Iain Russell, Senior Product Manager at Labcyte, will lead a tutorial on Tuesday, February 6, from 2-2:45 PM, to discuss how liquid acoustic handling can be used in even the most regulated environments, with the help of another exciting new Labcyte product, state-of-the art 21CRF11 compliant security software.

Don’t forget to RSVP for the tutorials (space is limited), and swing by BOOTH 915 / 921 at any time to learn more.

We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
