Reporting to our CEO, we are looking for a seasoned professional who will be responsible for driving our business development activities, evaluating and managing new strategic business opportunities, initiatives, collaborations, and partnerships, as well as play a key role in helping define long-term corporate strategic goals.
Identify potential business partners and opportunities; structure and negotiate agreements
Provide leadership in and contribute to due diligence and financial evaluation efforts on potential business opportunities
Participate in long-term product, business, and strategic planning
Work collaboratively with Marketing, R & D, Sales, and other stakeholders on planning and execution of deliverables
Monitor competitive activity, and work with Sales/Marketing to identify customer needs
Key role in interfacing with collaborators and business partners
Education, Skills, Experience, and Requirements
BS/BA required with an MBA or graduate degree in scientific discipline strongly preferred
Background in genomics or mass spectrometry preferred
8+ years proven track record in business development in the biotech/life sciences space, including successfully structuring, negotiating, and closing business arrangements
Strong strategic, business and financial acumen, including creativity in deal structuring
Successful experience providing persuasive approaches, pitches, and presentations
Cross-functional influence, relationship building, and project management skills
Understanding of intellectual property and licensing/partnering/collaboration agreements
Ability to multi-task and perform a wide range of activities while being self-directed, self-motivated, and “hands on”
Ability to travel globally
