Reporting to the Global Field Applications Manager, Applications Scientists work closely as a team with Sales staff to support Labcyte customers before, during and after a sale. Responsibilities include providing applications support to existing customers, coordinating and performing product demonstrations for prospective customers, developing new applications through collaborations (industrial or academic), troubleshooting technical problems, and training customers in the use of our products. Significant travel of 60% is expected.
Presentations, posters and papers for technical journals and meetings
Assist in beta site management
Assist in technical training for sales and support personnel
Education, Skills, Experience, and Requirements
Minimum qualification of a BS or equivalent in a science discipline
Proven record in customer support within life sciences
Familiarity with applications such as HTS, cell-based assays, biochemical assays, NGS, synthetic biology and single cell workflows
Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills
Good command of the English language
Knowledge of liquid handling, automation and robotic laboratory equipment desirable
Ability to travel freely within Asia Pacific and the United States
Field position based within China, preferably Shanghai region. This position will be a long term open contract opportunity which will work through a service in Shanghai.
